The Frederick Police Department is scheduled for the CALEA on-site assessment from November 13 to 15, 2023. This assessment is part of our voluntary engagement in a program that ensures the maintenance of law enforcement accreditation by verifying our compliance with professional standards.
Administered by the Commission on Accreditation for Law Enforcement Agencies, Inc. (CALEA), the accreditation program requires agencies to comply with state-of-the-art standards in four basic areas: policy and procedures, administration, operations, and support services.
CALEA maintains a public access portal that allows for comments with regard to candidate agencies seeking initial accreditation or reaccreditation status. The purpose of the CALEA Public Comment Portal is to receive comments regarding an agency's compliance with CALEA standards, engagement in the service community, delivery of public safety services, and overall candidacy for accredited status.
To utilize the CALEA Public Comment Portal, please visit the Frederick Police Department’s website, or follow this link https://cimrs2.calea.org/195
IMPORTANT: CALEA is not an investigative entity; therefore, the public portal should not be utilized for submitting information intended for such purposes. Additionally, submissions will only receive acknowledgment without any subsequent response; however, the information provided will be considered within the context of its relevance to standards compliance and the principles of CALEA® Accreditation.
