Policy Reminders:

Field Closures - 

What CITY SPORTS FIELDS CLOSED means – All City leased fields, including City school fields, are closed for the time frame indicated.  No one is to use the fields when closed.  If it is found that a permitted league is using a closed field, the potential to be fined and/or loss of usage for the season is probable.  If an unpermitted user is found to be using a closed field, a warning and/or Citation will be issued. 

 *Please note that closings are posted on the City’s website www.cityoffrederickmd.gov, and public information line at 301-600-6970 option 3, and a notification is sent via the City’s field closure notification alert system..  Closings are posted by 2 pm weekdays, and 8 am Saturday and Sunday. 

In the event that the weather changes and fields become wet or it is raining AFTER the deadline for field notifications - DO NOT USE THE FIELD.  Using the field is dangerous for players, and could result in repair fees for the organization, and/or loss of use of field priveleges.  Email sstamper@cityoffrederickmd.gov that you are not using the field, and the field fee will be removed from your invoice.  The email must be sent immediately when you do not use the field for your reservation time.  Fees will not be removed from invoice if you do not send written notification immediately. 

Illegal Parking and Littering - 

Illegally parked vehicles may be cited by Police and/or towed.  If it continues to be a problem with a specific organization, you may lose the privilege of reserving the field/court/rink.  Please regularly remind/publicize the importance of legal parking and nonlittering within your league, to your players, parents, coaches and guests, as it affects the organization as a whole.  

Invoices -

Invoices are due at the end of your playing season, or by December 15th, whichever occurs first.  Please email sstamper@cityoffrederickmd.gov if you need assistance.  Please be sure to keep track of any dates you do not use the field, and email me at the time, so the fees may be removed from your invoice.  

Certificates of Insurance  -

Insurance renewal dates do not always align with field season.  Your organization is responsible for submitting and maintaining current certificates on file.  If you request additional field times, after your insurance coverage lapses, the dates will not be approved.

 You may also partner with your Neighborhood Advisory Committee and/or contact Mayor@cityoffrederickmd.gov for assistance with recurring or continuing issues in the neighborhood.
