National Night Out Celebrations Tonight, Tuesday, August 7th
Frederick, MD -- Mayor Randy McClement would like to remind citizens to take part in the annual National Night Out Celebration tonight, August 7th. National Night Out will be held tonight, Tuesday, August 7th from 6:00 – 9:00 pm at Mullinix Park, Carrollton Park, and in the Whittier Community.
“This is a great opportunity to meet your neighbors, your Frederick Police Officers, and your City elected officials. Come join in some games, enjoy some great food and learn a little more about your neighborhood! That is what NNO is all about and I am looking forward to spending time in each community this evening.” said Mayor Randy McClement.
Mayor McClement and the Frederick Police Department are encouraging residents to leave their homes and come outside to celebrate National Night Out. National Night Out promotes community-police partnerships; crime, drug and violence prevention; safety; and neighborhood unity. Last year’s National Night Out campaign involved citizens, law enforcement agencies, civic groups, businesses, neighborhood organizations and local officials from over 15,000 communities from all 50 states, U.S. territories, Canadian cities and military bases worldwide. Over 36 million people participated in National Night Out last year.
This year the Frederick Police Department along with our community partners will be holding National Night Out in three areas of the city:
• Whittier Community – located all along Whitter Drive
Mullinix Park - Located on South Bentz Street
Carrollton Park – Located at 455 Center Street
