On 08/16/12 members of the Directed Patrol Unit responded to Whitesell Pharmacy for a prescription fraud in progress. OFC. Jones arrived and made contact with the pharmacist. OFC. Jones was able to determine through his investigation that the Archbold subject had come into the pharmacy and passed a fraudulent prescription. The pharmacist had confirmed with the prescribing doctor that the original prescription had been written to Archbold for Ativan. The pharmacist became suspicious because there were two different handwritings on the prescription. The different handwriting was for Hydrocodone and the Ativan prescription had also been altered.
OFC. Jones was informed by the pharmacist that a male and female identified as Clauter and Harris had been with Archbold since she arrived and passed the prescription. All three were seen about thirty minutes earlier by OFC. Jones and Preece at the pharmacy which confirmed the pharmacist’s statement. Archbold told OFC. Jones that Harris had altered the prescription. She also stated that Clauter told her he would pay the medical co-pay and then pay more for the Hydrocodone pills. Archbold advised that both Clauter and Harris had threatened harm to her if she did not attempt to pass the fraudulent prescription. After being arrested, Harris was also found to have Morphine on her person which she did not have a prescription. After OFC. Jones was able to determine these facts all three were then arrested.
