Trash /Yard Waste/ Recycling Collection Schedules Change

Frederick, MD -- The City of Frederick Government offices will be closed on Monday, September 3, 2012 for the Labor Day holiday. Offices will reopen at their regularly scheduled times on Tuesday, September 4, 2012.
Clarification to the schedule is as follows:
• The William Talley Recreation Center will be closed on Sunday, September 2nd and Monday, September 3rd.
• The Food Bank and Frederick Community Action Agency (FCAA) will be closed on Monday, September 3rd.
• The Soup Kitchen will be serving a free evening meal from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. on Monday, September 3rd.
• Parking meters and parking decks are free on Monday, September 3rd.
Trash Collection - The City of Frederick will not provide trash collection services on Monday, September 3, 2012. This applies to customers that normally set out their trash on Sunday evening for Monday morning collection. Please do not set your trash out on Sunday, September 2, 2012. Customers are requested to hold their trash until the next regularly scheduled trash collection day which will be Thursday, September 6, 2012.
Yard Waste Collection - This addresses curbside yard waste collection for residents that normally set their yard waste out on the first Monday of each month. Do not set yard waste out on Sunday, September 2, 2012 for the Monday September 3, 2012 pick up. Please hold your yard waste until the next regularly scheduled collection day which will be Monday, September 17, 2012.
Recycling Collection - Curbside recycling will shift a day later than usual during the week of the Labor Day holiday, sliding from the normal Friday collection to Saturday, September 8, 2012 Since this is also the date of the In the Street festival, recycling trucks will begin collecting in the central downtown district at 4:00 AM (three hours early) to avoid road closures and congestion.
