How do I obtain a "No Parking" sign, and is there a cost?
"No Parking" signs can be obtained from the Parking Department at 2 South Court Street or by calling (301) 600-1429. "No Parking" signs can be obtained for the following activities as follows (Pricing may vary depending on location):
  • Moving: $1 per hour or $8 max per metered space per day. $1 per non-metered space per day with a limit of 3 spaces. There is $4 deposit per sign. If stakes are needed there is a $4 deposit per stake.
  • Wedding: $1 per hour metered space. 3 hour max limit. $1 per non-metered space per day. A limit of 5 spaces. There is $4 deposit per sign. If stakes are needed there is a $4 deposit per stake.
  • Contractors: $4 per day per metered space for the first week, second week and beyond is $8 per day per metered space. $1 per non-metered space, per day. When renting a metered space by the month, 1st month is $40, 2nd month is $80, 3rd month is $120, and 4th month is $160 per space. Limit of 3 spaces unless authorized by supervisor. There is $ 4 deposit per sign. If stakes are needed there is a $4 deposit per stake.
  • Funerals: Funerals handled through a local funeral home shall receive signs to cover one city block in the area of the funeral. The time limit shall be three hours per funeral. There is a flat rate of $25 per funeral to cover the signage for the affected block.
  • Memorial Service: $1 per sign, or a maximum of $10 per memorial service. There is no deposit for these signs.
  • Dumpsters or Lift: $8 for metered space, per day. $1 for non-metered space, per day. There is $4 deposit per sign..
